Euro-deputy Ms. Joanna Skrzydlewska in Vocandus

New principal !!!
International British School Vocandus Lodz has a new principal - Mr. Nick Veale.
Principal Mr. Nick Veale about himself:
I was lucky enough to receive a well rounded and classical education at Lewes Old Grammar School situated in the historic county town of Lewes, East Sussex and my son attends a public school in Arundel, Windlesham House
Further, I attended The University of St Andrew's, Fife, Scotland the third oldest university in the English speaking world. http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk [although not at the same time as Prince William!].
I have experience with younger students in a multi-cultural context, as my work takes me to Hastings, Sussex in the summer where I assist my uncle as principal in a large summer school.
I am accredited Cambridge oral examiner.
Mission
Therefore my mission would be to bring to Vocandus the best traditions of an English education of a private school with relevance to contemporary life and to foster a climate in which students can develop self-discipline socially and educationally by maintaining a high level of morale through curricular and extra-curricular activities.
I look forward to receiving your co-operation in my mission to see that Vocandus fulfills its potential as an exclusive institution on the educational map of Lodz - through expansion; concurrently ensuring it still retains its ethos of respect for others, coupled with individual excellence.

Lesson of reading
On 25th April, we had a "Lesson of Reading" in English with Grzegorz Jankowicz: using the text "Finnegan`s Wake" by James Joyce.
'Lesson of reading with....' involves reading books together. We have proposed a series of meetings for pupils in which they will have the opportunity to meet university professors, writers, essayists, philosophers, publishers who shall share their insight regarding the texts and to discuss them in a friendly environment.
